Well, I'm deep in the heart of Poland this week, attending a scientific meeting at which all the other attendees are forest pathologists and entomologists. In other words, biologists, most from Canada and EU. Not surprisingly, its a pretty "progressive" crowd. I feel like a real hayseed around all these enlightened folks. Fortunately, the Polish hosts are a pretty conservative bunch of Catholics. Unfortunately, I can't communicate very well with them, so Christian smiles have to say it all.
Heard lots of derogatory comments about Pres Bush, JesusLand, religion this week. I think a few have noticed me praying in the spirit at meals, cause they've toned it down around me. Funny thing, though, a few have come up to talk privately, and one chap from Australia and I had an interesting discussion around the campfire a couple of nights ago about the revival in Sidney. He seemed surprised to hear that we in America have heard of it...didn't know news of nuts traveled that far. Seed planted, it's between him and Our Lord now :-)
Speaking of that terrible thing religion, I heard this website advertised on the Christian radio as I drove to the airport last weekend. Check it out, let me know what you think. Now, you long-time Knights know I'm not the strictest of legalists, :-) but I have to admit the long-running trend of bad-mouthing religion concerns me. Seems to me Christ without religion is a just a one-night stand. Maybe its just semantics, but couldn't it be that inviting people to Christ under the guise that it's "notreligion" sells the faith short right from the beginning?
Sir C, loving my religion and longing for more of it!
