As reflected in this survey from January, born-again Christians are a mixed-up group when it comes to participation in our national political process. At that time, 20% favored Hilary, 18% favored Obama, and only 12% favored Huckabee. Others, presumably, were lower.
I wonder...how could three times more born-again Christians favor the pro-abortion candidates Clinton and Obama than the outspoken pro-life advocate Huckabee?
I wonder...now that Huckabee is out of the running, and McCain's pro-life stance is less clear...will McCain's numbers rise?
I wonder...what those 38% of born-agains who favored Clinton or Obama think about the latest drama revolving around Obama's faith life?
Clearly, this is not a time of clear moral alternatives for born-again Christians in the public political realm.
Thank Our Lord, Jesus Christ, that He carries through times of uncertainty in the world around us...
